Never stop believing in your dreams.

I began my professional journey in 2014 and have since worked on a number of solo and collaborative projects. I have made great efforts to outsource PE professional development, workshops and observations through veteran teachers. I have worked inside and outside the classroom. I take pride in the work that I do and in the long-term relationships that I’ve built with my clients. I am a firm believer in working hard, working together, and having fun along the way!Explore my resume and feel free to get in touch with any questions.

Jian Kang Elementary:

Humanities and Culture Foreign Language Teacher

2020 – 2021

Sometimes life takes you just where you are meant to be. I dreamt of being fluent in another language my entire life and living abroad. After working with so many students from all over the world, traveling all over the world, and studying language I am so grateful that the pandemic brought me back to Asia. I feel like all of my experience leading up to this job opportunity had brought me back to Asia. Teaching a new classroom subject such as Humanities and committing my life to a new country, language and supportive community has allowed me to grow into the strong educator I am today.

Current Practices:

Total Physical Response

Due to my background in physical education I am very excited to include total physical response in my lesson planning. I believe in learning though movement. There are many different types of learners and it’s easy to include in my lessons and have fun at the same time.

Lifelong Learner:

Studying Mandarin

I think you have to learn a special kind of patience in order to work with children and provide empathy and compassion towards kids. I have many unique experiences growing up that allow me to relate to young people in a very special way and I know can have an impact.

Studying Mandarin…I am familiar with the Mandarin language. In my undergrad I hdd the opportunity to do a student exchange program in Hong Kong. Prior to living abroad I studied conversational Cantonese. I also worked at a Chinese Immersion school in San Francisco, California and was fortunate to practice some phrases with the students. They can be much more forgiving. During my time here in Taiwan I plan to invest heavily in the Mandarin language so I can relate to the students, parents, and community better.
